Life and Afterlife Coaching: “When We Hear What Isn’t Here”

Our topic tonight was about the voice: whether or not that’s a deal breaker for you in a relationship, and if it bothers you when the people you’re dating sing to you in public. On a psychic level, there is something called clairaudience, which is an inner sense of hearing; akin to the sounds you would imagine during a meditation.  It’s basically a Jungian concept of your own subconscious mind seeking access to the collective unconscious. You can also think of it this way: when you’re dreaming, you can hear voices and sounds, whether those are memories, imagination, precognitions, or something else. There’s a fine line between a sleeping and a waking state (especially when we’re tired) and sometimes the sounds and voices we would experience in our sleep become available during a waking meditation. For mediums and other psychics, these sounds can be more frequent due to practise, natural ability, or both.
Can anyone develop their clairaudience? You can try, and the more you experience it, the better you’ll become. Here are some tips for listening to information extrinsic to the range of normal perception:
1) Pay attention to the sounds that you hear as you’re falling asleep, whether that’s a train, passing cars, the voices of neighbours, or our radio show, Zodiac Divas (Tuesday nights on CBS-listen to us!). This practise can heighten your sensitivity to sound.
2) When you wake up, record your dreams, including sounds and dialogue you heard when you were dreaming. This will eventually fine tune your sense of inner hearing when you’re awake.
3) Make a habit of meditating to generally heighten all of your senses. If you encounter any difficulty with concentration, try using a guided meditation at first if necessary (either recorded or with a live group). Start the meditation by remembering the sounds of the previous day, starting with the first sound that you heard when you woke up.4) Be patient with your progress in becoming more attuned to an inner sense of hearing.

Try to let go of your expectations and preconceived notions. Putting pressure on yourself to achieve a particular outcome can shut down or delay the natural process of developing an innate ability. This principle applies to dating, too.
5) And when all else fails, pray.
“Universe, please help me use a sense of inner hearing to better the lives of others.”
