If you’re friends with an ex and looking to get back together but they just don’t seem to reciprocate, keep in mind that “If it is meant to be, I can’t stop it. If your reminiscence about a break-up is causing you depression, please seek professional help, and also remember that depression is anger turned inward. If you find yourself feeling resentment toward the person your ex is now dating, try starting a “Condemn, Complain, Criticise, and Compare Journal”, where you can put your thoughts to paper instead of having them repeat themselves in your mind. The flip side to forgiveness is resentments, so try practising forgiveness in a prayer. Even thinking “I forgive you” can make you feel a little better. You can also send send them a prayer for good health and happiness in life, which will help you to focus on your own health and happiness. If you find you are eventually ready to move on from being friends with an ex, know that “NO IS A COMPLETE SENTENCE” (Author Unknown, and unknown if they USED ALL CAPS). If you don’t want to be friends with benefits, or if you no longer want to be friends at all, you are not obligated to justify your choice.
