Kelly Fanioriti: When did you first recognise that you have the gift of “reading” the future?
Kyra: When I was about 8 years old, I started sensing when people were sick or wounded, what part of their body was hurting, and sometimes the name of the affliction.** I thought this was because I wanted to be a doctor, but it turns out that I was practising to be a tarot card reader.
This ability seemed to start after I was in an accident where I sustained some physical trauma. The injury seemed to open a somewhat empathic ability to feel others’ suffering more acutely than what I had previously experienced.
Kelly: Have you had any formal training or instruction for your work?
Kyra: My formal training has been in the field of hypnotherapy. When it comes to psychic work, I take my instruction from sensory guidance that I receive through meditation and self-hypnosis. Maybe it comes from the collective unconscious mind or perhaps from something as yet undiscovered by science. Anyone can ask for spiritual counsel to come through dreams or meditation, and the information seems to be available once it is meant to be known.
Kelly: What is your intention or motivation for doing this work?
Kyra: My motivation is to offer people information about their lives that may be helpful, regardless of whether that is about the past, present, or future. I also like to let people know that they have choices about the future based on their state of mind and subsequent behavioural patterns. While happiness does not have to be contingent upon external circumstances, a shift in our thoughts will often change not only how we feel about the world but also the way we interact with it.
I practise hypnotherapy so that clients who are experiencing a repetition of issues can break those patterns by altering the belief systems of their subconscious minds.
Kelly: Are you able to turn off your psychic ability when you want to? Is it like turning off your cell phone to get some peace and quiet like when you’re having a dinner?
Kyra: Yes, and that’s a great analogy, Kelly: it’s like taking a battery out of a cell phone and not taking calls from the Other Side. When I’m on sabbatical from doing readings, I experience physical symptoms that are almost identical to jet lag. Once I recover, I am ready to put myself into a state of self-hypnosis and begin the work again.
I believe that when we channel from the collective unconscious mind or from the subconscious mind of another person, we take a journey that is akin to traveling thousands of miles with our minds. It takes some time to readjust to conscious thought after such an extensive adventure of mental travel.
Kelly: Why do you believe that the dead want to connect with us?
Kelly: Some people tend to underestimate the ability of “reading” the future. What are your thoughts about this? Kyra: I think that a fair amount of skepticism is healthy. I didn’t go into this work with blind faith, and I’ve had my moments of doubt about the existence of the Afterlife before I started doing it professionally. However, that changed for me when I began doing readings more frequently and I had no idea where this specific information was coming from. I still don’t completely understand, but I’ve ascertained from some of the feedback I’ve received that psychic readings can be helpful, the communication from the Other Side feels natural, and there seems to be a need for such a service.
I think that if we spent some time having our intuitive faculties acknowledged and nurtured during early education, many of us would already have highly developed and frequently functioning psychic skills.
Kelly: In Greece we are in a very difficult economic situation and this destroys the communication among the couples. Could you give some clear tips to our people in order to keep alive their relationship or marriage during this difficult period?
Kyra: That’s a very good question, and thank you for asking it. Economic upheaval can reveal a great deal about the true nature of relationships. Here are some tips on how to keep your marriage or love partnership healthy when hardships arise:
*Find a group of friends or a support group to discuss your concerns about the difficulties in your financial situation. Allow this to be a safe place to vent your frustrations, rather than relying on your partner as the sole source of comfort. When you have outside resources, you will also be better equipped to provide some emotional support to others, including your partner.
*Keep a “Worry Box”. Get a coffee can, cut an opening in the top, and insert your worries and fears into the can one at a time, symbolically turning them over to the Universe to sort them out when it’s meant to be. Solutions will come from unexpected places. This exercise helps to alleviate stress and therefore can improve relationships.
*Pray together if your loved one is open to it. If not, it can be just as effective to pray on your own. Ask for the reasons you are going through this hardship to make themselves known if that is Divine Will (or in the will of the Universe, Nature, or whatever you believe in). Pray that these challenges will serve to strengthen your relationship to the Divine and, by extension, to those you love so dearly in your world…in this world, and beyond.
