August Horoscope: 2017 Monthly Forecast
This month’s August Horoscope is written in brief summary form to include both personal and universal themes. You can find your August Horoscope for 2017 by looking for mentions of your Sun sign, Rising sign, or predominant natal chart element (fire, earth, air, or water) below. For instance, most of my chart is fire and water, with a little air and nearly no earth. If I want additional information or if I don’t see my Sun or Rising sign mentioned in an astrology horoscope, I can also search for upcoming trends in fire or water signs.
This is a major month of eclipses, and you may already be feeling a shift in the energy. You’d be right to pick up on that, as some significant world events are on the verge of instigating inevitable change. The planets and houses that accompany these changes will dictate the overriding nature of upcoming events. If you are a Leo, Capricorn, or Aquarius, you will likely witness a transformation in your own life as well. Aries, Gemini, Libra, and Sagittarius are bound to experience a change in August or shortly thereafter, but to a lesser degree than Leo or Aquarius. Details on some of these changes are mentioned below.
Wishing you a Happy August!
August Horoscope: Career & Finance*
Jupiter squares Pluto in Capricorn August 4th-September 1st, bringing a deep need to express philosophical beliefs and expose hidden truths about international corporations. This aspect will likely bring protests intended to keep corporate powers in check-some through meaningful and peaceful speeches, and others with outright physical altercations. A rise in fervent religious beliefs as well as extreme global financial disruption is predicted to be highlighted in or around August news. Jupiter/Pluto aspects can point to large amounts of wealth, but a square would indicate an uncovering of deep issues (Pluto) regarding the ethics and regulations (Jupiter) of corporate distribution of wealth (Capricorn). Expect a gradual unraveling and reconstruction of corporate powers through 2023-2024, when Pluto moves into the Aquarian sign of social programmes and communal fellowship. If you are an Aries, Taurus, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius, or Capricorn, you may soon see truths exposed about powerful people in your industry that results in an abandonment of outdated methods in favour of a more efficient system of organisation.
This ends up being good news for you, as a different way of working will eventually include less pressure, deadlines, and more of an emphasis on quality of outcome rather than expediency of output. For those of you who work in the corporate world, expect an abandonment of the use of corporate jargon and catch phrases over the next decade, to be replaced with a more genuine way of communicating with colleagues and the public.
Cancer may also feel increased effects of the upcoming eclipses due to being ruled by the Moon. Expect a renewal in goals combined with a heightened career motivation that results in an unprecedented excitement about the possibilities of your future. If you are a Cancer, Leo, or Aquarius and work in anything involving public speaking, acting, art, media, communications, teaching, gaming design, web design, comic book writing, astrophysics, archaeology, engineering, activism, social work, medicine, public service, or non-profit organisations, the power of these eclipses to jumpstart your career could be amplified. Additionally, if you have been making more effort lately in your career and are open to trying uncommon methods to get a different result, your chances of success will be further increased.
Scorpio can expect to feel empowered by the secondhand influences of Mars in Leo. Pisceans can look forward to a natural flow of events without a lot of exertion. Pisces, if you are feeling indifferent about work right now, expect more energy around September 6th, when a full Moon in Pisces infuses you with a feeling of emotional fulfillment that could be connected to the completion of a professional project.
For Gemini, the focus in August may be more on health and research details than career or finance. You will be a source of comfort and support for friends and/or partners in your life whose careers are undergoing unexpected changes. This karma of helpfulness will come in handy when you are ready to move into the next phase of your career or calling. Be aware that you are well-liked and appreciated for your communicative abilities right now, especially if you are sensitive to listening to those you encounter this month and relating to their challenging circumstances with genuine empathy and compassion.
Pluto is associated with the collective power of the masses, and Capricorn rules corporate influence. Pluto’s current position in Capricorn seeks to expose hidden truths and bring about deep change in corporations, banks, governments, and law. Pluto moved into Capricorn during the 2008 recession, a crisis which uncovered the financial risks inherent in exploitative banking practises. We’re currently about to undergo an Economic Reformation period in this more advanced phase of Pluto in Capricorn. The seeds have already been planted for new ways of achieving prosperity. Seeds that bring about change take time to come to fruition, but they are a necessary component in the development of a new harvest. You may have been personally affected by the financial seeds that were sown during 2008’s Pluto in Capricorn initiation, since Plutonian shifts can be experienced on an individual, generational, or global level. It will become increasingly apparent that what happened 9 years ago was an initiation into a more stable way of life over the next few decades when it comes to the way we acquire, distribute, and maintain wealth.
August Horoscope: Love
August 7th brings a partial lunar eclipse in Leo’s partnership sector. If your Sun or Rising sign is Leo, your luck likely increases with an August 21st solar eclipse in Leo that encourages you to go public with a relationship or business idea. The August 21st solar eclipse will be in Aries’ 5th house of children and joy, so there could be a focus on children, family planning, or art, especially for Aries, Gemini, Leo, or Aquarius.
Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn will benefit from career and extracurricular connections this month. Virgo has a window of opportunity to make bigs steps forward in professional relationships through August 31st.
Scorpio can expect an emotionally charged, playful, fun month when it comes to love. For Pisces, love connections tend to feel natural and relatively uncomplicated for most of August, even if the choice of who you prefer to spend most of your time with is not yet clear. Even if you are in a committed relationship, you’ll probably feel most focused on enriching your relationship to an inner life of dreams, meditations, and the development of the imagination.
Cancer may be experiencing a needed a period of rest as respite from the emotionally charged astrological shifts that your sign experienced earlier this summer. You will be likely to attract unique and unusual friends and acquaintances close to home. Romantically, this month could be favourable for you as Venus moves into your sign.
Sagittarius is mostly focused on family relationships throughout August, although the New Moon solar eclipse in companion fire sign Leo August 21st could bring a purging of emotions about a partner, child, or father figure, bringing you into September with a renewed spirit, a feeling of rebirth, and confidence in the possibilities of second chances.
August Horoscope: Global Politics
The lunar eclipse in Aquarius on August 7th asks you to expect the unexpected-especially when it comes to major technology gone awry due to something hidden. Electrical outages, missile launches, internet blackouts, and computer glitches are expected to occur at this time. A pre-retrograde shadow due to Mercury going retrograde August 12th only intensifies the effect of near-future technological disruptions. Lunar eclipses have been known to accompany the end of way of life, as was the case in 1453 when Constantinople fell to the Ottomans, ending the Byzantine Empire whose reign had spanned over a thousand years. However, the start of the siege on April 6th 1453 was amidst a Moon in Pisces and Sun in Aries, signifying an ending and beginning. The August 21st 2017 lunar eclipse features an Aquarius Moon with Leo Sun. Uranus in Aries and Chiron in Pisces, both at 28 degrees, signifies a culmination of spiritual healing converging with a series of protests that have come full circle. Expect this to happen in Russia as well as the US, with something hidden about Putin’s relationship to Trump coming to the surface in an undeniable way in near future media revelations (Putin and Trump share a Pluto in Leo, and with Trump’s rising sign in Leo, we can expect to witness the uncovering of secrets related to how Trump is perceived by the public, likely influenced by Putin and others involved who have prominent Leonine and Aquarian aspects to their Mercury, Mars, or Pluto positions). There will be no going back or denying the truth after this incident is revealed later in August and in an avalanche of information that is made public throughout September. There also seems to be an unusual series of circumstances surrounding schools and universities in August-September, with children and young adults protesting-including the children of celebrities and government officials. Some of these protests will attract counterprotests, resulting in attacks in and around educational centres.
The New Moon solar eclipse in Leo on August 21st provides a contrast, as Leo is the “opposite” sign of Aquarius and the sun astrologically opposes the moon. August 21st could bring a reversal of some of the problems that arise on or around August 7th. An unconventional, original, creative, technologically-driven solution to political power issues will come about at that time. The result will be a group effort (Aquarius) to expose the machinations of singularly-ruled political powers (Leo) in more than one country. This could happen in countries founded when the Sun and/or Moon was in Leo or Aquarius, or in nations currently ruled by those whose natal Sun and/or Moon is a fire or air sign (Donald Trump has his Sun in Gemini, Moon in Sagittarius: air and fire. Nicolás Maduro, current leader of Venezuela, was born under the fire sign of Sagittarius with a Moon in Libra: fire and air.) Overall, the presence of oppositional signs Leo and Aquarius in neighbouring eclipses represents a clash between sovereign or oligarchical powers and the will of the people.
We are currently witnessing a transition from the age of Pisces, which brought us a period of self-sacrifice: self vs. large institutions of prisons and religious organisations, mass delusions, and large groups of those on Earth living in poverty while being economically controlled by powerful institutions promising spiritual redemption in exchange for earthly sacrifice. The Age of Aquarius, into which we’ve been moving, is a time of communal acceptance that functions without regard to gender, race, or nationality. The physical barriers that were used to “divide and conquer” most of humanity for at least two millennia and well beyond that are dissolving. The more they dissolve, the harder people will fight against these changes. A perception of division keeps people distracted as they argue with one another instead of noticing the actual issues. Some of the most prominent of these issues are wealthy institutions such as banks and political powers taking advantage of those who have been divided and robbed of revenue to keep them just physically weak enough to be unable to advocate for themselves. An Aquarian Age brings the gift of unity borne of necessity. That necessary element is expected to include environmental, humanitarian, and other actions that are required for our collective survival. By working together for a common purpose, the power of some of these larger institutions will gradually diminish.
Looking further into the future, the global social shift of Pluto moving into Aquarius (2024-2044) parallels another time when Pluto was in Aquarius from 1778-1798, during the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. It was also an innovative period for the development of classical music. Mozart has numerous planets in Aquarius in the 5th house of creativity, and from 1778 on he enjoyed a particularly prolific period for his work. Beethoven then began composing in the shadow of Pluto in Aquarius (1799). In this next epoch that we are about to enter into, I predict it will be a time of aristocratic decline. Royalty will no longer be unconditionally accepted as a valid system of governing by most countries. Instead, titles of lineage will become more a source of genealogical and historical fascination as we embark upon a time of egalitarian opportunities borne of Aquarian sensibilities.

Hi Kyra, Hope you are OK! I am anxiously awaiting your next blog post! I realize that some of your comments on August went into September. Still, hope to read your next post soon!
I wonder if this blog has been abandoned by the author. Hope not, because it’s a good one.
I have not seen any updates to your page since August. No September horoscope. Just wondering if you haven’t posted or if the problem is on my side. I always look forward to your page. Thank you!
You were right about Trump and Putin’s relationship. A lot of info has been exposed, and Putin has turned against Trump.
Roger Stone has threatened the lives of members of Congress.
What is the state of Trump’s health? Are there mental and physical problems?
There’s been a report in the news recently that the Russians have not stopped planting false stories and interfering in the U.S. What do you see about the elections in 2018? Do you see Pence being convicted , jailed, or taking over for Trump? These last 2 weeks have made me think that he is not well and that he’s going to step down soon.
Bannon has been fired. What do you think?
After the Charlottesville woman was killed and so many were injured, I feel afraid for the future of this country. Do you see more violence in the streets since the president seems to be defending the alt right? Where and how does this end? The republicans in Congress say the right things yet they still stand with Trump.

Kyra, Thank you so much!
Your post name has been updated. Thank you for your comments!
Hi! Maybe you could delete my last name? Nothing to hide, but I shouldn’t have clicked post so quickly. I will copy and paste to my own email so I can repost if you need to delete. Thank you! Sorry for the trouble!
I’d been waiting anxiously for your this blog post! You did not disappoint! Thank you! I can’t wait until more of Trump’s secrets come out. I am already so tired of his lies and the chaos! I am also looking forward to your history’s mysteries report. Btw, I just became aware of the controversy related to Dorothy Kilgallen’s death. I thought she was just a panelist on “What’s My Line,” but she was a reporter doing serious investigative work on JFK’s assassination. The portfolio full of her research disappeared at the time of her death. Perhaps you might have some insight into her untimely passing. Thank you for everything! Looking forward to your next blog post!!!
Thank you. An interesting read.
