Warren & Obama Endorsements
There will be a few surprising endorsements soon, as well as some big ones for Bernie, Hillary and Cruz. Many of the biggest primary endorsements will come out right before delegate-laden states like NY, CA and PA vote in the primaries. Elizabeth Warren strategically waits for Hillary to be officially endorsed by Obama so that Warren’s endorsement will not be overshadowed by Obama’s. While Warren prefers Bernie, she will give an informal endorsement for Sanders as her intention is not to sabotage Clinton. Warren instead aims to promote a candidate who has demonstrated through experience that he or she is most willing to do what is right for the people without regard for self-interest. Bernie’s goals match Warren’s primary purpose in being a politician.
But she will be careful with her words, as she does not want to turn her followers against Hillary, should she win the nomination in July. Warren would rather encourage voters to support whichever Democratic nominee will run in the general elections.
Hillary & Bernie in Virtual Tie at Democratic National Convention
There will be a true tie of unprecedented closeness by the time of the Democratic National Convention. The nomination will come down to the choices of very few superdelegates. It looks like it comes down to one or two superdelegates who have the power to make such an impactful decision on our future.
Future scholars will say it should have gone to Bernie. He will be the one to win the popular votes overall, and to be competitive with delegate-but superdelegates will be an obstacle come July. We are going to see a parallel to when Al Gore lost his rightfully won presidency to Bush in 2000. Votes will make a difference in this election-it will be close and the one who can prove an even higher percentage will have the best choice of the undecided super delegates, especially those who could go either way and be swayed by just one convincing fact about the success of a candidate’s run.
Despite something similar happening to Sanders, a loss would ascend him to an even more revered position of popularity. Even with Clinton as President in name, Sanders would be regarded by many as President de Facto.
