Presidential Election Predictions 2016
New Hampshire
Democrats
Bernie’s popularity is growing and will only continue to increase throughout a very close race with Clinton in 2016
Bernie will win by a landslide in New Hampshire, and will do even better than projected in polls. It could be as much as 82%, but it looks like it’s at least between 76% and 82% for Sanders’ New Hampshire win.
Republicans
Trump wins
2nd: Rubio
3rd: Jeb will do better than expected, giving him the needed momentum-and just in time to save his candidacy.
4th: Cruz. Ted just came off of a win in Iowa, and while he is not expected to win in New Hampshire, it will be surprising to see how poorly he does in this second state. New Hampshire is humbling to he and Hillary.
Trump and Sanders winning in New Hampshire will spark even more media discussions about voters increasingly leaning toward “fringe” candidates in the 2016 election.
South Carolina
Democrats
Clinton wins, although Sanders performs better than anticipated in South Carolina.
Republicans
There will be an upset on the Republican side for South Carolina. Cruz, Trump, and Rubio will be very close, with these three candidates ending up within about one point of each other. This will be remembered as a year of ties when it comes to presidential elections! Expect an exciting fall.
Too Close to Call. Again? Similar to what Clinton and Sanders experienced in Iowa, Trump wins after a near-tie with Cruz. Neither Cruz nor Trump are very far ahead of Rubio.
2nd-Cruz (close to a win)
3rd-Rubio (very close to 2nd place)
Jeb will be the solid 3rd-4th place candidate soon. Cruz will be forced to drop out amidst multiple scandals by summer, Trump will go in his own direction, and eventually the Republican party will be left with only two viable candidates: Bush and Rubio. 4th-Jeb will jump up in the polls after doing better than expected in New Hampshire. After a near-tie amongst the three top candidates in South Carolina, this primary almost makes him look like he’s in second place. He embraces the momentum and plays South Carolina off as a near-victory.
At this point, Christie is thinking about dropping out as he is using up a lot of his own funds to stay in the race. But not being one to give up and relying on his Chris-ma, he will keep fighting until he runs out of money and then will continue to fight after that until he goes into a great deal of debt and can no longer manage to stay in the race. Kasich and Carson drop out before Christie, placing Christie solidly in fifth place for the Republican candidacy. And after Carson drops out, Jeb is in fourth place and slowly works his way up from there.
